I'm a cooking maniac these days

On Wednesday I made Rutabaga Casserole. I've never eating rutabagas before. I'm amazed how good this tastes. It's a bit like sweet potatoes but better.

rutabaga casserole

It was actually kind of funny when I bought the rutabagas at Publix because the cashier didn't know what they were so had to call her manager so that she could ring them up and then I had a bunch of people asking me what they tasted like and I had to tell them that I had no idea since I also had never eaten them. I guess next time I buy them I'll be able to tell everyone what they are like to eat.

I also baked a batch of Roasted Root Vegetables that came out surprisingly good.

Then yesterday I made BBQ tofu that turned out so good that even my meat eating tofu partner loved it.

I've decided to try eating all the vegetables that I see over at Whole Foods and other places that I have no idea what they are so I'm looking them up online and then finding recipes for them.

It looking to be a beautiful day here. I'm hoping to get all my house chores and web work done early enough to go for a bike ride later today. We haven't gone kayaking in a while so hopefully this wonderful weather will last and we can get some kayaking in very soon.

Really loved Alice In Wonderland

| | Comments (0)

We just got in from seeing Alice In Wonderland. We both absolutely loved the movie.

I'm very surprised that some gave the movie less than great reviews. I thought the story was very well written and very entertaining. I found myself caring about the characters with a story line that keep me guessing while giving the characters depth. I thought the 3D was actually better than Avatar which I didn't think possible.

Alice In Wonderland is by far my favorite movie of the year so far. This is not to say I didn't love Avatar, I did, but while Avatar set a standard for SciFi and was an awesome adventure Alice transported me off to a magical place and put a smile on my face that lasted the entire movie.

Seeing Alice In Wonderland was a great way to unwind and relax after what has been an exhausting week of work and play.

Finally got my big pile of papers for my personal taxes off to my accountant. I don't remember my taxes ever being this huge of a pile of papers. When did life become so complicated? I just hope I don't end up owing a bunch of money for a year that was financially hideously lousy.

I'm still a bit sore from moving the huge pile of yard rotting yard trimmings with lizards living out to the street for this morning's bulk trash pickup. Christy and I tried to get our three cats to help but oddly all they want to do is hunt for lizards hiding in the yard trimmings.

I'm still recovering from this weekend...

We went out dancing Saturday night and didn't get home until 1:30 in the morning, we even had a female dwarf dancing with us. Then we got up really early to play racquetball and after playing for a few hours we got invited to go boating again and didn't get in after late last night.

Would have been nice to have taken some pictures but I still haven't gotten around to buying that all weather camera that I've been wanting.

Going to be trying to get caught up in everything today. I still have this huge pile of tax stuff on my dinning room table that needs to be sorted through that I keep on procrastinating on doing. I'm not sure if it is disdain for paperwork or fear of owing a bunch of money as the reason that I keep on procrastinating on getting my tax stuff together. I just know that it needs to be sent off to my account very soon.

Maybe I'll get a surprise and actually get a tax refund this year but I doubt it, but if I do get a refund I'll probably buy the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 all weather camera right away.

Besides dealing with a big pile of paperwork just a day of slaving to the computer so that I can end up owing even more money in taxes.

Our weather is finally back to normal with temps back in the seventies.

Spent Sunday morning trimming the Eureka Palms in our front yard and then went out wave hopping in the ocean in a tricked out 28 foot SeaVee until after dark. It was great. There were dolphins riding the waves with us for awhile and we also saw mannites swimming along New River when we were going out. Makes me want to run out and buy an all weather camera even more.

Trimmed Eureka Palms

Still have a little bit of yard work left to do and one very huge pile of yard trimmings that will have to be dragged out to the street of bulk trash pickup on the forth Monday of the month. It feels good to be almost finished with yard trimming for at least the next year.

I've been looking through the Popular Science archives that have been put online by Google Books. I remember reading many of these issues as a child. I guess this is how I ended up with such an interest in science and technology.

Blue Ginger Brown Rice ChipsGot up early today to hit balls with other humans inside of a big box with a wooden floor at the gym.

Played pretty lousy I guess due to not getting a great night's sleep. I kept on waking up having really bizarre dreams.

I spent the last few days putting together a new shemale fan blog. I'm really happy with how the blog came out but fuck doing tranny porn gives me bizarre dreams. I dreamed that I went to the farmers market and there were shemales selling bins of penises next to the produce.

It's finally starting to warm up here. Normally we have temps in the seventies this time of year but the temps have been in the forties so looking forward to enjoying the warm weather and getting back into boating and biking.

One of Christy's coworkers gave her a bag of Blue Ginger Multi-Grain Brown Rice Chips Black Sesame & Sea Salt. OMG they are like the most awesome chips that I've ever tasted. Trouble is they can only be bought at Costco and BJ's. Besides the hassle of having to become a member to shop at these places they are way over on the other side of town.

Although my craving for these chips might actually drive me to drive over to the other side of town and get a membership to either Costco and BJ's.

Where did February go?

Finally finished all the yard work in our backyard this week. Fuck I'm sore! Still have the front yard to do but that is nothing compared to what had to be done in the backyard.

We've ended up with a lot of logs as a result of trimming our trees. Normally I would put most of them out for yard waste pickup but this year we are having one on the coldest winters ever so, despite being too green, we have been burning them in the fireplace. I don't really know much about using firewood as in the twenty some years that I've lived in this house the fireplace was never used for anything more than ambiance but this year it's being used to actually keep warm.

Going to go over to Home Depot in a bit to pickup an ax for splitting the logs. Not sure how good either of us will be at doing this but an ax is a whole lot cheaper then a log splitter.

I've finally recovered from last Saturday,
Saturday we got up early to play racquetball at the gym and all the courts were taken but these two guys invited us to play doubles with them. So we played four games and then one of them invited us to go boating with him so we ended up spending the rest of the day boating around town to a bunch of different places. Had a great time but it was way too cold to have been out on a boat.
